Local Animal Rescue Celebrates Milestone in Rehoming Efforts
Local volunteers celebrate thousands of second chances for cats and dogs.

Perth, WA — 06/09/25
Saving Animals Matters (SAM), a volunteer-run animal rescue based in Perth, has proudly announced a major milestone: over 10,000 cats and dogs successfully rehomed since its inception.
For more than a decade, SAM has been dedicated to giving vulnerable animals a second chance at life through adoption, fostering, and community support. Their team of volunteers works tirelessly to ensure that every animal receives not only shelter but also love, medical care, and the opportunity to find a forever home.
“Every adoption is a story of hope,” said a SAM spokesperson. “Behind every number is a once-abandoned or mistreated animal now curled up in a safe, loving home. It’s why we do what we do.”
The rescue has also been expanding its outreach programs, offering resources for pet owners, fostering opportunities for families, and educational initiatives on responsible pet ownership. A recent initiative, the Last Litter Program, has been particularly successful in preventing unwanted litters, reducing strain on rescue services across WA.
SAM relies heavily on community support to continue its work. Donations, foster carers, and volunteers remain the backbone of the organisation. “Every contribution—whether time, money, or opening your home to foster—helps us save more lives,” the spokesperson added.
With adoption rates increasing and community awareness growing, Saving Animals Matters remains hopeful about the future. The team is now focused on expanding its foster network and hosting more adoption events to meet the rising demand.
