Hi my name is Luna & I was surrendered to the rescue by my previous owner to put an end to the prolonged bullying I experienced at the hands (or should I say paws) of the resident Devon Rex. My previous owner tried absolutely everything to make things work however- as time went by, the bullying increased in frequency and severity. I was by no means unloved but nonetheless, a difficult decision needed to be made…. one that was in my best interest and so, I found S.A.M..

I have come in leaps ‘n’ bounds in the short time I have been in foster care- and this partly due to the company I shared with another kittie. Maple was an undomesticated kitten trapped on a naval base and taken to a local vet to be euthanized. Our incredible foster carer took us both in that same day…. And we instantly bonded. If I ever felt anxious, Maple would provide me with the support and confidence I needed. If Maple felt nervous or unsure, I would provide her with the support and confidence she needed. Together, we have blossomed into confident, affectionate and well-rounded kitties who are now ready for forever homes. I would absolutely love to find a home with Maple however, I do understand that this isn’t always possible and if we are to be adopted separately, I would prefer to join a home with another social kittie to bond/ spend my time with (note* introductions should be done with care and consideration).

Given my past, I would prefer a quieter home (ideally without young children or boisterous dogs) that will give me plenty of time to adapt to all the changes that come with an adoption.  It can take me a bit of time to come out of my shell, but once I am comfortable in an environment and have determined that my company is A-OK, you’ll notice that I become a very affectionate kittie. I will snort, grunt, grumble, give nudges and shower you in slobbery kisses and cuddles. The sort of affection that you’ll either love, or, find annoying.

Adoption fee is $400 and covers 1st vaccination, de-sexing, microchip, worming, flea treatment and vet check. Animals are ready for their forever homes typically once they reach 9 weeks of age and vet work has been completed. Please note* adoption fees do not cover microchip transfer costs. This can be obtained from the lovely SAM team upon request.
