Hi my name is Maple & I came into the care of the rescue after being found on my lonesome fending for myself on a naval base. I was undomesticated and well… pretty cranky, so the decision was made to take me to a local vet for euthanasia. Fortunately, a staff member saw my potential and wasted no time in contacting the rescue who found an experienced foster carer to take me in. -AND- by gosh did she bring the goods!

What incredible progress I’ve made in short time I’ve been in foster care- and this partly due to the company I shared with another kittie. Luna was a surrender intake from a home where another kittie subjected her to frequent bullying. Just like me, she was scared. Our incredible foster carer took us both in that same day…. And we instantly bonded. If I ever felt nervous or unsure, Luna would provide me with the support and confidence I needed. If Luna felt anxious, I would provide her with the support and confidence she needed. Together, we have flourished into self-assured, affectionate and well-rounded kitties who are now ready for forever homes. While we no longer rely on each-other for company, the rescue hopes I can find a home with another social kittie to bond/ spend my time with (note* introductions should be done with care and consideration).

Given my past, I will need a quieter home (ideally without young children or overexcited dogs) that will give me sufficient time to adapt to all the changes that come with an adoption.  Understandably, it can take me a bit of time to come out of my shell -BUT- I can assure you that once I am comfortable in an environment and have determined that my company is A-OK, I become a smoocher! It is still baby steps with me but if you have the patience, I’ve got all the love to give!

Adoption fee is $350 and covers 1st vaccination, de-sexing, microchip, worming, flea treatment and vet check. Animals are ready for their forever homes typically once they reach 9 weeks of age and vet work has been completed. Please note* adoption fees do not cover microchip transfer costs. This can be obtained from the lovely SAM team upon request.
