Lilly NC0958
ABOUT ME
Hi, my name is Lily & I came into the care of the rescue after being found fending for myself in an industrial area. I was not very friendly and my future at this point didn't look all to bright. A good samaritan contacted the rescue who saw my potential and offered to take us. I now have a second chance, for which I am thankful.
My carer has worked hard on my rehabilitation and understandably, this has been a slow and steady process (over a year in the making!). Despite how diffident I first was, the rescue saw my potential and were committed to turning me from 'hiss' to 'kiss'. I'm am pleased to announce that as a result of my incredible carers love, patience & perseverance, I’ve virtually done a complete 360 ° on the nervous & unpredictable kitty I first was. With time, I’ve learnt that people aren’t so scary and actually, they are there to help me (who would have thought)! I now absolutely adore the human company I keep, and will actively seek out affections. Yup, cuddles, snuggles and pats… all sounds good to me!
While I’m worlds apart from my former self, I’m still learning to adjust to change; new people, new surroundings, new sounds and new smells. This can all be a bit scary for me. So, I’m needing an adopter who is patient and willing to give me plenty of time to settle in & establish a solid foundation of trust. N’ once I have? Well, you can expect all the good things my foster family does…. All that & more!
So now the important stuff. What sort of home will I suit? I am seeking a quiet and patient home that will provide me plenty of time to adjust to all the changes that come with an adoption. I will need someone willing and able to continue working on my confidence- slow is my speed. Cats? I adore the company of other kitties and will do fabulously with another confident and friendly feline companion that will model positive human interactions- this will also help me establish a bond with my adopter! Dogs? While I haven't previously lived with companions of the canine variety, I have proven to be non-reactive when meeting them from the comfort of my pet carrier. It likely won't be love at first sight however- the rescue is confident that with time, I will adjust well to their company (ideally no energetic doggos). Children? I am not suited to a home with young, boisterous children however.... will be ok with kidlets who are respectful of my space.
